What To Expect In a Baby First Aid Online Course

child health· first aid

baby first aid online course

Covid indeed forced us to do things differently. This is when our baby first aid online course was truly born.

It had been in my head for quite a while, and I had toyed with the idea of putting an online course out there…

Then the wrecking ball of COVID arrived in the 3rd week of March 2020.

So we set to work recording videos and creating downloadable PDFs for our audience so that they didn’t have to miss out on this most important of subjects and created the best online baby first aid course in Australia.

We had to assume that most people won’t have a baby CPR manikin at home, but actually, we figured this is only an obstacle if we make it one! Delivering this information is way more important that not delivering it because we don’t have the right doll.

We encourage our parents and caregivers to practice the positions for Choking and infant CPR, and head positions on their own baby, but NOT the actual first aid of back slaps and chest thrusts – that would not be a good idea and bub would not thank you for it.

Instead, we ask parents to use a doll or a teddy bear to practice the essential first aid techniques like:

  •       Chest thrusts
  •       Back slaps
  •       Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

We have videos that show you the exact techniques so parents and caregivers can follow along and rewind as many times as you wish.

Our baby first aid online course is also available as a live online zoom class. This allows you to ask questions live and go over techniques that you need more practice on. We also find that people benefit from learning in a group as often other people will ask questions that another wanted to ask but didn’t. There is no such thing as a silly question in our baby first aid online classes

What does a baby first aid online course look like?

Our course contains videos for the following subjects:

👶🏼 Baby Eczema
Eczema (also known as atopic dermatitis) is most common in babies, in fact, it affects 1 in 5 children under the age of 2 years.

It can also occur in older children and adults but usually improves with age.
Although eczema can be effectively treated and managed, no cures are currently available.

Why people develop eczema, is still not well understood but it is common for babies with eczema to develop allergies.
