Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I do a baby cpr class?
We run private home classes in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. You can also join a public class in Sydney, NSW.
Can I do the baby first aid course online?
Yes! We have an online self paced course. Once you login, you can browse the subject and complete the modules at your own pace. There are videos, PDF’s and downloadable resources inside. We cover all of the same subjects as the in person class.
Can I bring my baby to a class?
Yes! If your baby is under 12 months old, they are very welcome to our public classes. The same goes for your home class, this is the whole point of having the class at home – we will fit around you & your babies routine!
What if my baby gets upset/needs feeding/sleep during a class?
Thats ok! In a public class we often have extra rooms for your bub to nap in and for you to feed in if you’d like some privacy – you would still be able to hear the class if your baby likes a long feed! We have breaks too, and you can bring drinks and snacks into the venue.
How much does training cost?
At the time of writing (June 2022) the public classes are $117 per person. The private home classes start at $457 for a group. Afterpay is available for in home classes.
How long is the training?
The baby first aid course runs for 2-3 hours. If there is a larger group 0f 10+ in your home, the class can go for a little longer depending on questions.
Do I get a certificate for this course?
There are no certified baby and child specific first aid courses. Most certified courses are heavily adult focuses. We are very proud to bring you this course, as even though it is not certified, it is packed full of all the information that you need to recognise and respond to your child or someone elses in an emergency, and recognise when your child is sick. This baby first aid course has been created by Paediatric Nurses and Clinical Nurse Specialists in Childhood Allergy. Our founder and educators have lived and breathed these scenarios for decades
Are the first aid trainers trained medical professionals?
Yes! All of our trainers are Registered nurses, and most of them specialise in paediatrics. We are also founded and run by Heidi Young who is a paediatric nurse of 22 years and a clinical nurse specialist in childhood allergy, so you are in good hands!
What if we have to cancel?
It is fine to cancel your spot in our public classes or your private home class. We understand that life gets in the way. If you cancel within 48 hours of the class, there is a small fee to pay, but no financial penalty for transfering to a new class.
When is payment due for the course?
You pay for your course upfront for both public and private home classes. Afterpay is available for home classes.
